2009 Spring Fishing Report
We have started the spring fishing out with a bang. We are catching Amberjacks and Amberines on our 8-10 hr fishing trips. Grouper season opens up April 1st and I have already been catching grouper 20-30 pounders on my 8-10 hr trips every where and having to throw them back, so it should be a good grouper season. Cobia's 30-80 lbs have really started to show up good which means it could be a great season for them. We fish for Cobia's in close to the beach and we sight fish for them with 20-30 lb light tackle. They run through here the whole month of April.
Red Snapper season opens up June 1st and of course we have been catching lots of Red Snapper every where, but what is more impressive is these are not our typical 2-4 lb Red Snapper the stock is doing so well they are now averaging 10 lbs and better.
