Big AmberJacks are Hot and There is NO!! OIL Here
Well folks it was another beautiful weekend and the fishing was great too! Slick calm waters and the amberjacks, amberines and groupers are biting. The baitfish , hardtails and herring have moved in so it makes for some easy bait fishing. We caught some Big AJs, Red Grouper and Bull Mingo snappers yesterday and Big AJs, amberines and King Mackeral today. A boat did a overnight swordfish offshore trip and caught 4 swordfish and one 450 pound blue which they released. Another body of mine released two marlin and caught some Dolphin and wahoos yesterday. The water offshore is blue and grass lines are starting to move in offshore. We have been lucky the oil remains still 60 -70 miles offshore south west of Destin and the turns south and is moving offshore, let’s pray it never hits here. For those that are concern about contaminated fish, well there are no contaminates here. Think of it like this, the fish will move out and away from the oil area like animals fleeing a fire.
May 19/2010 More great fishing this week

Oil Spill update/ OPEN TO FISHING IN FLORIDA
Just got back from a meeting with DEP, BP, State and county officials. Looks like most of the oil movement if and when in to our area will be slight, most of the oil becmes what they call weathered be fore it gets here. What that means is the oil mass is sinking before it gets here. The oil dispurstment product seems to be working pretty good. NO CLOSED WATERS to FISHING IN FLORIDA. Might be some light tinting of the sand on the beaches, but that is about all you can expect for now. If any small oil tar gets on beaches, BP with clean up crews will clean up instantly. So come on down to Destin and let’s go fishing. 850-837-9734
A Great Day Cobia Fishing
The Cobia pop was on again today. We left the dock at about 8 am and went down the east beach ( Destin) by 9:30 we had a cobia in the boat then we could get turned around good before we would find another fish and hook him up. By 12:30 we had hooked a dozen fish kept 5 and released 7. We started heading home back to the west and found a couple more and kept one more to give us our limit of 6 to keep. This has been an a great run and continues to be a great run of cobia this year.
Spring Cobia Run
Wow !!!the Cobia’s have been showing up in full force, finding ten to twenty fish a day. These fish average 30-40 pounds, some up to 60-70lbs. I haven’t seen it this good in years!!
